Miami partner Luis O’Naghten was quoted in a recently published article by Global Miami about Miami’s inaugural Arbitration Week. The city, now a hub for international arbitration, has seen a steady increase of arbitration work over the past 20 years due to Latin American foreign investments and trade in South Florida.
O’Naghten discusses that arbitration in Miami now goes beyond commercial contract disputes in Latin America, and that Miami practitioners are now recognized for their experience in investor-state arbitration due to Miami lawyers increasing their representation of both investors and governments, as well as acting as arbitrators in those disputes.
