Jeanne N. Guest practices primarily in the areas of healthcare law and environmental law. Her healthcare practice focuses on physician employment relationships and contractual arrangements, compliance counseling, third-party contract negotiations, policy development, and medical office leasing. She is also involved in the negotiation of professional contract relationships and coordination with professional consultants related to healthcare operational assessments for her clients, and she has previously worked closely on healthcare acquisitions and related due diligence investigations.
With an undergraduate background in chemistry, she initially gravitated to the practice of environmental law, and continues to handle such matters for firm clients. Her experience with environmental issues in her more than 30 years of practicing law includes compliance/permitting counseling in connection with real estate transactions. Such matters often arise in the context of Brownfields redevelopment and coastal development. She drafts and negotiates contract terms pertaining to environmental risks and liabilities for leases and sales documents on behalf of property owners, purchasers, and lenders.
Guest has also worked on various and use planning and real estate development projects over the years for local communities, which involved the drafting and negotiation of contracts, development agreements, loan documents, and land-use restrictions as well as the organization and handling of related due diligence tasks for such transactions. A unique area of her practice involves alcoholic beverage licensing and compliance matters, primarily for hotel and restaurant clients along the coast and throughout the State of South Carolina.
When not practicing law, Jeanne enjoys spending time with her family, her dog and her grandpups. Her family enjoy days outdoors at the beach or hiking. Sharing a competitive spirit, they also love games of all kinds from board games to pickleball or disc golf.
